Hi All; What I am looking for is a close range sight like on the left. The right hand sight is a close range but the wrong style to fit my AYDT . If you know or can figure out what the right hand sight fits somebody might
be grinnen. Grin

Randy,
Contact Bill Loos (his address is in the archives).  He can probably fix you up with the sight you need and tell you what the other one is for.

I have an old Martini stalking rifle that looks as if it would take the sight on the right.  Rifle is probably German made, but no markings at all.  PM if you need dimensions or maybe want to unload the one on the right.

If my German serves me, I think this is what the catalog says about the Aydt diopter sight;

"The classic Aydt aperture target sight milled from steel especially for the 8,15x46R Schützen cartridge. Elevation and windage adjustments are made with precisely milled dovetailed guides. The sight has a 6mm square shaft for fitting into the upper tang. Adjustment key included."

Price $ 314.00 US
