Acquired a #27 boys rifle and during the general cleaning I discovered it has an oak stock, once painted black. Is this the original stock by any chance ? Oak seems to be an odd choice. Can't afford the two Boy's Rifle References (by J. Grant or J. Perkins) thus must rely on ASSRA for an answer.
