Hi,

I am in San Antonio, waiting out Ike to see if I can fly home tomorrow.

I came to Texas last week to hunt javelina with my BSA cadet in 30-30.
The javelina had made themselves scarce, so I took a nice meat hog instead.

Upon my return from Pearsall, TX where I hunted, I picked up another martini, just stocked by Dominick Pisano.

Here are some pictures...if i do it right.

I have taken deer and a 350# black bear with my ultimate sisgle shot, .54 flintlock.  Monstor elk and mountain goats seem to be able to keep out of range Smiley

I live in N. California and mostly hunt deer with my takedown high wall in 7x57R caliber.  The action is from a high wall shotgun.  Ron Long worked up the barrel for me and I re-stocked it to keep from banging up the original shotgun wood while hunting.  I started out with a Lyman Alaskan scope on it, but switched to a Weaver K6 a couple years ago.  Have also killed a few coyotes with this gun.  Also have a high wall with a nickel steel barrel in .32-40 caliber that I have killed a few bucks with.  Will attach a picture if I can figure out how to make it work.

Vall;

I'm still in San Antonio!  Spent the day with stockmaker, Dominick Pisano.  Getting to the Vancouver gun show was out of the question, as Dominick had to be home by 5pm.  Given its about 1800 miles each way, I didn't feel his Honda was up to the trip.

I was unable to post the pics, but I did email thrm to you.

tar baby - I am surprized that we haven't had some kind of a response from "the Green Frog" about your "walking the frog" picture.
Good thread - I have enjoyed keeping up with it - the rimfire - cdpersons

Come on guys two pages already and nothing about...... what finer feeling on God's green earth than laying in a fresh mowed hay field and pushin a set trigger on a 219 Zipper or R2 Lovell while looking through the Lyman or Unertl at that big chuck standin up and smiling at you about 200 yards away. RIP. Wink
