At the gun show today, I was talking to a guy about I wanted to get a 44 1/2 action someday. So he wrote down, 2 names! He new I wasn't wanting a new gun, he new i was in to building a little at a time.
Here is what he wrote: Paul Shuttleworth and then a place call Mid-America Sports Moline Ill. so I do some searching and run acrossed Jim Feren a barrel maker. Okay fellows, straiten me out. Can 44 1/2 kit be bought from P.S. or this Mid a.S., and does Jim Feren, still make barrels?
I will be great full to you folks for putting me strait.
Thanks ACE

I'm not familiar with Jim Feren but here is Paul Shuttleworth's website
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) His rifles are based on his upgraded 44 1/2 action.

I never head Jim Feren built barrels, He is a top offhand shooter,  Former National Silouette Champion. CPA is the reproduction 44 1/2 you see most often.  I have two and they are real good actions.

DON'T BUY any thing from Mid-America if you want to see it any time soon.  I have been there done that it took a year to get a sight that I was told was in stock and ready for shipment.  Ken
