Well there are several to choose from.  For a hunting rifle you can't beat the Business Rifle.  I have a friend that just got one and it is excellent.  Barrel finish is matt, wood is plain but dense, and the rifle handles nicely and Pedersoli barrels are accurate.  It doesn't hurt it's their least expensive model.  If you prefer a pistol grip then the Silhouette standard model or the Creedmoor #2 might be more to your liking.  These are all 10+ lb rifles with 30 to 32" barrels.  The pistol grip Buffalo model is 12+ lbs.  These all have the shotgun type butt which you'll appreciate.  If you're going to mostly shoot targets you might appreciate the heavier rifles.  I have a 45-90 Long Range Rifle - 34" barrel, 12+lbs.  It still impressses me how accurate it is.  It is a good target rifle and would be fine on a stand on the plains but I wouldn't want to use it in the woods mainly because with the 34" barrel it just doesn't handle like a hunting rifle should.

Ya' pays your money and ya' takes your choice.

You can also get whatever configuration you like, shotgun butt, pistol grip, whatever, and if the barrel's too long to be comfortable for woods use, have the barrel shortened and a new front sight dovetail cut.
