Hopkins and Allen Falling Bock Re-barrel

I'm new to this forum and it seems to be full of info. I have a 16 ga H&A that is in good condition and I was wondering about rebarreling to 38-55 to shoot lead bullets in. Nothing hot, just nice loads for fun and a little hunting. Any ideas on this?

I don't know how safe this idea seems to me. The only reason for doing this is because the action is cheap. Unfortunately if you make this investment the resulting rifle will be worth much less then you have invested besides being a possible safety hazard. Please consider investing in a better action for your rifle construction projects.
