Thanks Tom, and Ken.

I really appreciate the effort!

Interesting to see the way they saved a little bit on the machining and bar stock costs by grafting two pieces together behind the breech block like that.

Is the rear portion of a different material? 

Lovely little spikes to ease the stocking job, too! Smiley

both metal parts of the action appear to be made of the same material

the barrel is half round, half octagon.  cal is 22 lr

I forgot to mention the markings.  made in italy .  The importer was

sporting arms international inc   indianola, ms 38751

top of bbl    Danl Fraser & Co  Black Isle Scotland.

i misspelled the name  Fraser !  

He was originally in Edinbourough i believe.

i owned several Alexr Henry rifles but never a Fraser.....yet !
