Ben, 

"Known but to God"...is the inscription on an unknown Confederate grave near my home here in the mountains.  This unlucky soul was on his way home, and was murdered at a pass in the mountains, just days after the end of the hostilities.

The marker is on a wayside near the Breaks of the Mountains park, which is on the state line between Elkhorn City KY and Grundy VA.

Hi All !!!

Very moving and even better when you view it personally. There is a famous statue with a wounded Lion carved in the side of a mountain in Lucern Switzerland in remembrance of those fallen in the First World War. Another “moving” experience.. 

I’m going to Google the article so I can read the whole story…
