	You might ask ASSRA archivist Rudi Prusok. Although he specializes in modern German, he has been able to decipher a couple of archaic phrases for me. It would be worth a try, and you already have a good sharp image there to e-mail to him. Froggie

	I'm no expert , lived in Germany for 5 years . It appears to read ................ S.Emerling Munchen While I have no paper work to back it up , I believe I've seen Emerling on another rifle (just can't remember where)

	Hahnspanner. Marked H Emeling Munchen. 4.35 mm. This rifle uses a 22 short to propel the ball. Joe.

	This percussion rifle is .40 cal. Marked i KOHRMANN iN DUSSELDORF. Full coverage engraving except the barrel. Joe.
