I just finished cleaning up a new old toy. Stevens 45 in .22 rf, 30in #2 barrel, DSTs, original sights, Win. A5 scope. It's in pretty good shape, relined barrel, only surface rust on barrel and receiver. Some yeahoo bored out the buttstock and poured hot lead in for balance, over the years it seems to have expanded and split the wood. Only other problem is a broken firing pin. The scope was a pleasant surprize, it is probably 90% with a single small dent, good crosshairs and glass, needs thumbscrews for the mounts. Anybody know the thread/size of the thumbscrews, nothing I have seems to fit properly (6/40, 6/32)?

Thanks for any info.

Moshannon:       A nice rifle that should give you fine shooting for a long time to come.   If the 'thumscrews' you are talking about are the ones that tighten the mount to the block, then try regular 6 x 48 scope block screws.  You will need a screwdriver to mount, ect but will work best if pointed a bit.                       Good shooting         andyZ

AndyZ,

Thanks for the info. I have also heard from another source that 6x48 screws should work. I'll have to pick a few up.
