Bill,
The shot answer is yes.  Following is additional details:
===============================

I discussed these with Winchester and they are in fact a reissue of the Browning Traditional Hunter with Marbles front and rear tang peep sights. These were exclusively made for and distributed by Davidsion's.

Manufacturer: U.S. Repeating Arms|Winchester
Model #: 1885 Limited Series
Type: Rifle
Finish: Blue
Receiver: Blue, Drilled & Tapped
Stock: Walnut, Satin, Checkered, Straight
Sights: Marbles Blade Front & Rear Tang Mounted Peep
Barrel Length: 28" with Semi-Buckhorn Rear Sight
Overall Length: 44.5"
Barrels manufactured by Miroku
twist 1:18, bore/grove dia .373"/.379" (.003" groves)
Weight: 9lbs
Butt Plate Recoil Pad: Crescent Buttplate with Strap on Top
Additional Features: Octagonal Barrel
Suggested Retail Price: $1,320.31
=============================
Bill, not knowing what you have planned for the rifle, keep in mind the twist rate of 1:18, which means, as .38 caliber, they are not ideal for cast bullets or BPCR.  They may work with cast but were designed to stabalize the shorter jacketed .38 caliber hunting bullets.

Bill,
Winchester has confused a lot of folks with their Limited Edition 1885.  In late 2003 they introduced exact copies of the Browning Traditional Hunter in calibers 45-70, 405W, and .38-55.  These all have Marble sights, 28" octagon Miroku barrels and are NOT referred to as BPCR's, and the twist rates are not ideal for BPCR.

A few months later Win. came out with a Limited run of .45-90 BCP rifles.  These looked like the Browning Traditional Hunters with Marble rear sights, straight taper octagon 34" Badger barrels and are referred to as BPCR's.  The twist rate is 1:18, which is ideal for .45-70 BPCR.

Then, more recently Win. introduce the Limited Edition Creedmoor BPCR's in .45-90.  These are exact copies of the Browning .45-90 Creedmoor BPCR's.  These have 34" 1/2 octagon 1/2 round Badger 1:18 twist barrels and come with the same front sight and soule rear sight as did the Browning's.

I hope this helps.  By the way, if anyone is interested in picking up one of the Win. Creedmoor .45-90, I have a couple headed my way from Davidson's for resale.

So, after all this I see I've corrected my initial response.  The Winchester Limited Edition BPCR WAS NOT & IS NOT available in 38-55 caliber.  So far the two Limited Edition BPCR models were/are only available in .45-90.  Are y'all confused now?
