Hello all,
   Would anybody happen to know the twist rate for the Stevens 44 in .25-.25?  I don't have the rifle here at home and can't check it. I would like to order a B&D mold for it. But!  I need the twist. If anyone is shooting one? What bullet are you using? I will only shooting BP in this rifle. Thanks in Advance.

According to COW both the .25-21 and .25-25 Stevens had a standard twist of 1 in 14".

My Stevens 44 (45) .25-21 actually has a 13 inch twist. Shoots well with the Lyman 25720 (95 gr). Mine also prefers small pistol primers when using SR 4759 loads. Good luck.

I have a CPA in 25-21 with a Shilen 1-12 barrel.  I shoot the 25 cal bullet that CPA carries the mould for.  On a calm day the rifle does better than MOA with ease.  I use small rifle primers in brass by RMC, powder is AA #9 about 8 grs. worth.  It is a delight to shoot.  On a windy day it is a challange, you might talk to yourself.
