Attaching forearm

What is the accepted way of attaching and bedding forearms for best accuracy? My originals all used 1 screw. Sometime back I bought a Bullbery carbine barrel in .30-30 for a Contender. Bullbery suggested using their forearm attachment which spanned the factory screw holes. The Bullberry system uses 1 screw in the middle of the attachment to secure the forearm. Suggested bedding was full contact on the attachment with the rest of the barrel slightly floated. I did that on all my carbine barrels so I could just use the same forearm. Though still tough to shoot from the bench, both factory barrels that were bedded this way seemed not to be as sensitive to variable forearm contact on the bench. BTW, you ought to see the strange looks I get at the range breechseating a Contender carbine with black tuperware stocks! What do you folks do when fitting a forearm for best accuracy?
Thanks,
Mark
