Picked up a new stevens 45 today in 22 lr. #2 lever, 30" #2 barrel, and double sets. Bore is bright, but worn. As soon as I can upload some pics, I will post them. moodyholler

Nice looking gun Moodyholler! Don't often see straight grip Stevens with set triggers, or S levers for set trigger guns either!

moodyholler;
                I posted on the other thread that you may have a 417 or 416 Stevens-- I am wrong--this is not one of the later [last] Stevens models.  It has a model 45 Stevens buttplate and it has an early Stevens tang sight. It must be an early Stevens model 44 because of the doubleset triggers. I'm sure someone here knows of this model but its the first one I've ever seen--if you go to Ashville I may get to see this nice rifle--If it were mine I wouldn't do anything to the rifle until a collector had a look.    leadball

Leadball, I don't think this is the same gun mentioned in Moodyholler's other post.

marlinguy;
               Thanks Marlinguy--I'm becoming more confused by the minute--this picture is not a 417 or 416--so now I don't know who owns this rifle OR  the model.  leadball
