Have you sent in you Raffle tickets yet?

I just got a couple of snapshots from Steve Durren that show at least part of the rifle in nearly complete state.  WOW!!!!

I'll try to post them here IF I can figure out how to do it.

Thanks for posting them 1st Shirt.
That is one knock-out rifle.  Somebody is gonna win the treasure of a lifetime.  I'm still cranked that ASSRA ossifers "and staff" are unable to enter---yeah I understand why, and I completely agree that we need to be totally transparent and avoid anything that can even be misconstrued as a conflict of interest---yadda yadda yadda!  BUT--I have seen a lot of fancy gunsmiths art in museums and publications over the years.  some really really good and some that is gaudy tawdry and overdone.  I normally don;t care much for gold enlay, but this is frankly one of the classiest rifles I have ever seen---bar none!  And I wish I had a chance at it.  Of course the taxes on its "fair market value" will not be cheap.

Oh my goodness!!!  Those pictures are going to cost me some more raffle tickets.  Let's see; if I skip lunch for a couple of weeks it'll not only help me lose weight it'll improve my chances of winning.  Dang, I just knew this hobby was good for me.

What these pics can't show---gold is really really hard to photograph---is that first Ken deeply engraved and undercut the steel to make the place for the gold.  THEN he engraved the gold inlays themselves.  There is some absolutely incredible art work there.  I think in the long run this piece will become a classic piece of gunmakers art.

Raffle tickets are on a page in each of the past few issues of the Journal as well as the one that is at the printers as I write this.

You simply photocopy the page, clip out the ticket and send it in --with your check of course--to the address listed. Multiple entries are welcomed.  You are welcome to make copies for your shooting friends who wish to participate.  It was decided to use this system rather than ask people to carve up their Journals.  It would also allow for more uniformity of tickets (paper weight wise) in the raffle bin since most photocopy paper is of similar stock.

The raffle drawing will held be at the ASSRA Spring Shoot (MAy 25-28) at Etna Green, IN. You do not need to be present to win. In the past it has been held in conjunction with the annual meeting.  This year the Winner of the Ballard Rifle, the Grand Prize for the All American Match will be selected there as well.
