Well I got the spring file down a bit, and that certainly took care of the half cock issue.  Still needed the material removeal from the back of the trigger for the full range of movement, so everything is fine.  Made a plunger  out of a bolt and spring, not the cats meow, think I need a stiffers spring, maybe more of a point on the plunger.

I owe you guys a beer, thanks for help.

Snapper, the plunger had a sort of ball end, just radiused off, but not a point...that would be too "grabby" when you tried to cycle the lever.

You may find that it's not the rear of the trigger itself that's hitting the pin, but rather it could be the rear of the little T-shaped SST secondary-sear thingie in the middle of the trigger. I've had to shorten almost every one of the ones that I've converted in the past.
Good luck, Joe

I have a little bit of a radius on the plunger, need to get a stiffer spring.  Was able to see an original plunger last night,  The one I made could of passed as a copy.  I got lucky.

I am going to strip the thing down for color case hardening.  Are there any tricks to removal of that coil hammer spring?

thanks

Ain't no trick to the removal of the spring, it's the reinstallation that's the bear. I've found that it helps to grind a notch in an old broken screwdriver blade, to help retain & control each spring arm when you reinsert the little fingers in their holes. If you deburr & polish the blade and spring ends then maybe you won't scratch anything when reassembling, but don't count on it.
Good luck, Joe
