Case Hardening  Question

I'm thinking about refinishing a Winchester 1876 and I wonder
if I case harden the  action, will this cause any problems. I
know levers and hammers were colored; as were some actions.
I'm just unsure how 100+ year old actions will react to the
process, if anyone has experience with doing so.

Mr. ganute:

I can't see as how it would be a problem. I suggest you talk with John Gillette at Classic Guns about your project. They are my first choice for color case work.

I agree with HST !  I have been sending work to John Gillette for 3-4 years and have never had a problem --- his work is great !   Ken
