My hiwall schuetzen project update

Just wanted to post a progress report on my Hiwall project for those of you who might be interested.  After recieving recommendations from many of you on this forum I managed to aquire the following parts
Laudensack lever--Rodney Storie
Laudensack buttplate--Steve Meacham
Winchester palmrest casting set    ---  Frontier Armory
Wood machined in Laudensack pattern -- Treebone woodcarving
I worked over the castings and installed the lever.  The buttplate is nearly polished and the palmrest is on its way but I still need to get the thumbscrew for it.
Greg Pinnell (first shirt) fitted the wood and did an outstanding job.  The fit is first rate and well worth the cost.  I would recommend Greg highly to anyone who is considering this sort of undertaking.
I had Glen Fewless all lined up to do the metal work and send it on to Classic Guns for color case hardening but finiancial decisions( I bought a snowbird condo in Arizona) left me short of funds to complete the rifle so I was unable to have Glen do his magic.
I want to thank all of you who have advised me along the way and let you all know how helpful you were.  I will continue the project at some later date and post photos .  Unfortunately, I have no knowledge about how to post photos of the rifle in its current state or I would.  I am very proud of it .
Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will bring it to the Cowboy theme show in 2 weeks.  I have a table and some cowboy guns to show as well.  I will try to remember to cast some 44 paper patch bullets for you and bring a pattern for the patching papers as well so you can get that great roller shooting again.

The High Wall looks great! Wish I had it in my collection! I'd even finish it up, and save you all that time and money! Grin

I have been telling folks about Greg's work for sometime now. He has done a number of projects for me and has a Hoch actioned , oct/rd 3855 #4 weight bench rifle he is doing for me now. I have pictures of the Hepburn he stocked for me with an oct/rd bbl made by Fewless in 40-50 SBN. Glenn built the hepburn from a Rodney Storie casting --- way better than an origional by far !

If you would like to see these pictures, drop me a note at kenhurst 1 @ earthlink.net (remove spaces)   or, wait for the following issue of ASSRA where it will be on the cover & article . These pictures were taken by our own Dale McGee and are fantastic !      Ken
