Complete and free - Stevens, Maynard and other old catalogs on my website in .pdf format. Because old catalogs are for research, not profit.
Don't pay someone for a photo copy.
Will be scanning others I have in my collection and adding to the site in the future.

Jerry Cleave has a wonderful design for a Ballard. But he told me after building mine he'd never build another. Just too labor intensive.

Here is a breech seater design for Ballards. It's not TOO complex to make and works great. I've been using one for years.
I find it particularly handy because it can be used on a rifle with either a tang sight or scope.

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.

I have seen similar being used. I had an opportunity to buy several of the brass castings that hook onto the action and I probably should have at the time. I have also seen Russ Webers with that same type of casting part.

I also bought a half dozen of those cast hooks from someone here on ASSRA years ago, and built one breech seater. I saved another, which is misplaced somewhere here in my gun room, yet to be found. Gave away the others to friends.
Mine is like Randy's, except all one unit, not two pieces.

For those on this forum who may not be ASSRA members plus for those who are members but may have missed it, below is my ad from the latest issue of the Journal.
Both of these books are profusely illustrated and written for all single shot rifle aficionados.
The Golden Age of the American Schuetzenfest
is essentially a study of Schuetzen during its golden age (1890-1917). Over the past several years it has become THE standard reference work on Schuetzen history. It presents such topics as how the old matches were conducted, Schuetzen parks, targets they used, rifles & implements, notable shooters, accuracy of their rifles, plus much, much more.
Loading and Shooting Traditional American Schuetzen Rifles
is the how-to book for those either starting Shuetzen shooting or considering getting into Schuetzen shooting. It's soup-to-nuts coverage of shooting Schuetzen rifles includes everything from defining the Schuetzen rifle, acquiring a rifle, needed equipment, bullet casting, doping the wind to techniques for both bench rest and offhand shooting.

Years ago Ted Bacyk and I did two books on American Cans & Kegs. We had planned on doing another with Canadian, British and new discoveries on American products. It got too big and was put on a shelf where it has been sitting. Will Ayde-White and David & Ted Bacyk have put together another volume on just the Canadian tins. It is 64 pages, 8 1/2"x 11" in full color. Price is $45.00 plus $5 postage. Tom Rowe POB 207 Sugar Grove VA 24375 (865) 207 6026. Attached are some sample pages.
