Yet ANOTHER Miroku 1885. Now in .357 Magnum!!!!

Well, I finally picked up the last of my Estate Sale goodies.

I waffled on this a bit.  Of all the calibers, I didn't think a Low Wall in .357 would really trip my trigger.

Ooooo!  Was I wrong!  The second I pulled this out of the styrofoam I was in LOVE!

It's a Browning Low Wall (year unknown at the moment) in .357 Mag.  It has a case hardened receiver and a glob front site.  Crescent buttplate which does not bug me in the slightest.

The Lyman rear sight as an adjustable diopter which is a BIG plus.

Does anyone know which front sight was used on these when it comes to globes?  This one has a nice Swiss post which is my personal favorite.

I absolutely cannot wait to shoot this one!  It is light and handy as all get out!!!

Here is the Globe I was talking about.  I am assuming it is a Lyman Globe as the rear sight is a Lyman.

Anyone know which number this one is?

Your front sight looks like a LYMAN 17A

Lyman makes that sight in three different heights I believe. I think you can buy a "card" of different inserts from I believe Lee Shaver. If you really want a thumper ream that chamber to .357 Maximum...

Doesn't, or can't, Lyman provide 17A inserts anymore? If not, scout eBay - I see them there frequently. If unsuccessful contact me as I have a surplus of them and can pick out a couple useful inserts. (Typically out of the 8-10 inserts that come in the little orange tin you'll only ever use 2, maybe 3.)

I'll admit to a bit of envy over this one. It would fill out my small collection of Miroku Low Walls!

I concur about stretching the chamber to .35 Maxi. I've come to love that chambering. But, and it's a big but, it'll detract from its value in future. Personally I would do it - a 200 grain cast bullet at 2000fps is pretty righteous, but then again I tend to look at this sort of thing as a deer-catcher not a target rifle.

Congrats Nice rifle..

If you are a gunsmith or very mechanically adept, the trigger mechanism will be a no brainer for you, For me it was a challenge.
I disassembled one for cleaning one evening,..., LAST TIME I'll do that..!
