Yeah, I'm not buying gas until it gets back to .249! I had a truck with saddle tanks for a full load of 55 gallons. At the current price then of .249 I could get 50 gallons for $12.50! Still waiting.

I bought from them early this year. Call and talk to them. Mom&Pop type. I had no issues.

35+ years ago my son and I were burning up so much black powder I began buying it in case lots.  Back then, even with the hazmat I was buying it for the same price our local dealers were.  As much as we were shooting it was a significant savings.

I probably had 5 or so pounds left when hillaryhole got elected to the senate and even though I didn't live in her state I got a little spooked and ordered a case.  Well, I shot quite a bit of that and helped a friend who couldn't find any with a couple pounds.  I probably had 15 lbs. left when ohomo got elected and I got spooked again and ordered another case.  I'm not sure how much I have left, maybe 20 lbs.?  I don't shoot near as much BP as I used to, my son has been gone since 1991 so whatever it is, it's enough to last me my time on earth.

It's a sad situation regardless.

RJ, I think that's right by Federal law, without a magazine but I believe state laws vary.  Missouri is 50 lbs.

People throw around words like "legal", "legal maximum", or "against the law".

It is good to follow the rules. Don't get me wrong.

Most adopted limits on this sort of thing are handled by the city or county municipality, adopting some or all of the NFPA's National Fire Codes.
Having a greater amount of powder stored, or a lesser amount improperly stored is a code violation, which is slightly different than "illegal", though most of us try very hard to follow rules regardless.

The bite comes if you have a fire or some other event involving the powder and the insurance gets wind of it, they may try hard to fight you about paying the claims.

City and county employees, for the most part, have zero idea about this and will even make stuff up if you contact them for guidance. The NFPA is silent on many of the storage details. As an example, properly storing <50lbs in the Tough Shed, as well as storing another 50lbs in the Barn and so on with as many variations of this theme are not clearly addressed and are okay. It is basically a non-problem, unless you act like a ninny and draw attention to things you should be smart enough to keep to yourself.

At that time, you will be dealing with someone that does not or may not know the code and will over react.

Don't take my word on this. If you are really concerned, it is easy to do a little digging in your local area. Just don't ask civil servants that don't have a real clue.

Yep, I worked with city, state and county inspectors, the NEC and the NFPA for over 40 years.
