I'd be in the same boat as Jack as I have a hard time letting things go once I decide that I like them.   What you are doing is providing a good service.  Most people would have no idea how to deal with the estate of a certified gun crank.

I apologize Dave!
You posted a question and it was not right for me to make a smart remark. I hope it all works out for you!
Sincerely,
Joe

No worries, Joe,  I was laughing with the emoji's.  My wife reminds me often, that this is self inflicted, and I could fix it by not buying any more....

That said, just  picked up today between 2000 and 3000 pounds of knives, bayonets and swords.  It will take more than a few days to sort, research and catalog those.  Some very interesting looking stuff there, including Japanese samurai ( I believe, and authentic) and civil war era sabres.  Along with a wide assortment of everything else, including about every bayonet ever made.  This was all in totes, trunks, barrels and boxes, just randomly filling the containers without regards to what they were.  Samurai sword mixed in with taiwan fantasy knife, fake cane sword, and brazilian machette.  Gerber mixed with Frost, Imperial, Case, Cattaragus and chinese.

The family was quite grateful, and have been very pleased with the proceeds so far from the first two loads I've sorted and bought.

Edited to add 3 typical pictures.  I have approximately 40 boxes/piles like these to sort and go through.

If you find a Rolling Block military bayonet and scabbard I sure could use one for my #206 Cadet rifle. The 206 was built on the #1 1/2 Sporting rifle actions and uses the same socket bayonet as full sized Rolling Block #1 rifles.
