Help ID a scope

Does anyone recognize this scope? Mounted to a Ballard I purchased. Do the rings look contemporary to the scope? To me they do not seem conducive to the recoil of a light 32/40.

Thank you.

They also made a 5x and 2.5x version of that scope. They are good scopes for a 3/4" objective.

The main thing about the mounts, is that they are much wider than the normal external scope bases of .472 and you shouldn't try to tighten them down to the smaller bases.

Ok great.

.470-.473” blocks is exactly what it the mounts were squeezed down onto. It also appears I am missing the one thumbscrew.

Question 1…what are the proper sized blocks?
2…anyone have a proper mount screw?
3…can the average person disassemble this scope to clean lenses?

Thank you for the information. This is my first experience with a scope this old and as you can tell I know next to nothing.

Steve Earle has of late been making adapters to be able to use the smaller blocks with this scope, check out his website.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Scope and mounts are all Winchester 8x. The bases are all .9" spaced holes at both ends on a Model 75 Winchester .22 rifle. I have 4 of these bases and all are the same width and hole spacing, but various heights.
Not sure I'd want to use those mounts with the fixed front mount on anything with much recoil.

That was my concern Marlinguy. If I can get the lenses cleaned up so its clear I may mount it on my Zorn Ballard 22 and buy an MVA for the 32/40 Ballard

The mounts can be changed to the Marlin/Walensak or Mossberg turrets and front mounts.

I have two, one original mount and one with Walensak mounts.

I took the scope apart this morning and cleaned the lenses. Quite alot better now. Should work great on my Zorn Ballard 22LR when I get the blocks figured out
