Offset iron sights

Curious if going from scope to iron sights on a high comb Pope style schuetzen stock can be achieved by using a windage front and Soule rear with them adjusted near there left limit? Anyone try this? This would keep the front out of the way of the scope field and allow a lower line of sight for the irons as a half inch left will naturally lower your face on the butt.
Comments?
Thank you,
Charles

So, if I'm following you, I can assume your butts to big?

Not sure I understand your question. I read it at least six times.

Okay, yes if you have adjustable sights front and back you can move them both to the left the same amount to get your cheek off your big butt. But then you are out of windage adjustment. That's not good.

If your front windgauge sight is interfering with your scope better to remove the upper part of the sight. No?

No perty sure I'm not following you.

My rosewood stocked Ballard had a big ole honkin butt on it. Could not get down far enough to see through the sights. Kept shaving wood off with a spoke shave till it fit me. My dad had a CPA with the big stock on it. It was way to high and could not clean the rifle from the breech or see through the sights.

Still not sure what Charlie is talking about.  Taller sights and taller scope blocks is the only answer with the big CPA stock unless one is willing to whittle the wood down.

As I study this the real issue is that the Pope style cheek sucks for those with well endowed jowls. If I were to remove the needed material it would look like crap since there is no meat on the right side of the stock. So my thought was to live with it as is by simply turning my head in a bit to accommodate the scope position. And , move the iron sights down and over (tilt my head down a hair). This is good enough for my local matches. Yes, I know that in order to maximize my scores I need fit, natural point of aim, etc. but as I age I realize I will not be what I once was. Just want to enjoy offhand shooting  as I can.
So maybe the best is to ask if there are any issues with adjusting the sights out near their limit to experiment on using it as a temporary situation to get some iron sight practice in.
