Great.
Get a few drops of acetone on your fingers, it’s in your heart in 15 seconds.
Today, we have wonderful solvents for everything, why folks go down this road is simply amazing.

Ah,no.

I'm a fanboy of Ed's Red ever since he described it to me nigh onto 40 years ago now. I feel it beats Hoppe's at its own game, and besides I still have over a gallon mixed up and contained in brown glass jugs (dispensed into a brown glass bottle).

Copper fouling solvents are another story - I've experimented with every elixir that's come down the pike and haven't settled on a favorite and I guess I never will.

My new bore cleaning system. I find it makes the mundane chore of cleaning barrels almost enjoyable.

Wes,
You failed to mention which bottle had which?  Is the brown bottle bourbon and the clear bottle Bore Tech C4, or is the brown bottle Hoppes and the clear bottle Tequila?  I think either way they'll work fine on the rifle, but switched around, I guess they'll clean you out too.  Grin Grin Grin

copper, if not too bad, responds pretty well to Sweet's 7.62. Horrible smelling, so keep your wife away while the jug is open.

He might ask, where did you go to medical school?

The brown liquid was Hoppies, second best bore solvent ever made and smells good too. The clear liquid was Tequila but I didn't drink it. It was a bore solvent experimink. It worked just fine as a bore solvent. I'm liking the little bottles for bore solvent containers. They look neat and don't tip over easily and the corks stay put.
That clear Tequila is awful tasting.

The problem with asking a Cardiologist is that this is a toxicology question, and is out of his expertise just as much as heart surgery is out of mine.  All doctors are not created equal.  Acetone is the active ingredient in most fingernail polish removers.  The fairer sex has a lower rate of cardiac events, and they regularly rub it on their fingers.

However, a pair of nitrile gloves is a minor cost for prophylactic purposes.

Sounds basically like Ed’s Red. Dextrin ATF has frequently been used as a substitute for sperm oil. Formula is equal parts Dextron, turpentine, mineral spirits and acetone. I used it years ago until I started cleaning exclusively with Kroil.

I've used Kroil for all sorts of gun cleaning, lubrication, and other things for years, but boy is it getting expensive! I keep looking for some cheaper source of Kroil, but not much price difference no matter where I check.

I got a gallon can for $1 at a garage sale a few weeks ago.  By the time I got home, it had leaked about a pint in the bed of my pickup.  The seam had opened up at the bottom on the way home.

I put it into 3 glass jars that were in my recycling container, as well as filling my pint can full.

If you were closer, I'd give you a jar full.
