Early 1885 Highwall

1227 serial number, Octagon Top reciever. When I got it the barrel was a sewer pipe inside and I relined to 32-20 WCF the original caliber. Someone had cut a slot in the top of the receiver  with a hacksaw apparently to use for a rear sight  since the rear sight was missing. I had the receiver slot welded up and then color case hardened it.  The slot can still be seen if you look for it. The stock was repaired who knows how long ago, I left it as it was and kind of like it that way.
