Help needed identifying a Rifle

A fellow ASSRA member asked me to ID the following, what appears to be a German Single Shot Rifle.
As this is unfamiliar to me would you be so kind as to respond to Slowshot, aka Dennis with your knowledge...

I'd like to see a picture with the lever down so, we can see how it connects with the breech block.

Is the device on the front of the action, just to hold the forearm on?

will be in town tomorrow, will get a shot with lever down.  the forearm has a wedge pin like a  thompson center muzzleloader
any other shots will happy to take. it is marked 7.7x45.

A really nice rifle. The engraving is much better than many in my estimation, and the condition certainly helps. You might check sold prices on similar rifles with similar features and condition on Guns International. Others here will certainly chime in with more and better help.

The cartridge is most likely the 8.15 X 46R which was THE German Schuetzen cartridge for near a century.  The rifle looks to me to be a Buechel action but I'd need to check my Schuetzen books.

There should be more proof marks and post a picture of them.   They can possibly give the date of proof and which # of rifle it was in that month.

The condition appears to be high!

I checked my "Alta Scheibenwaffen, Vol. One" and I believe it is a Haenel-Aydt Type II rather than a Buechel.

I'm pretty sure that is the lever spring.  The forearm is mortised into the front of the action and retained by the barrel key.

Buchel liked to have their name and often the model on their rifles somewhere. The emblem inset says 1934 that and the condition of the rifle may be a good indication of the age. Certainly no later than 34.
