Just finished another roller

I was going to make a banjo neck out of this, but it was a tad short.  I had just enough of this to do the buttstock and most of the Forend.  That's an industrial strength ebony Schnabel but I've carved a few that were a bit too delicate and chipped, so...
It's in .40-60 1 in 16".  Barrel was a Shilen blank from CPA.  Action is Remington Swede.  Locks up like a vault.

Well there's your problem...

Another nice save of a beautiful piece of wood originally intended for a music instrument. Many Frank Wesson 2-trigger rifles have beautiful wood for their simple stocks. Turns out Wesson had a neighboring factory that made fancy organs and they were using their scraps for firewood for their boiler. Wesson offered them good firewood in exchange and put the "scraps" to good use.

Rolling Blocks are my favorite action to build on since they're often way cheaper than any other single shot action. They make a great rifle for old cartridges and are simple actions.
That's a good looking Roller!

I just discovered Numrich has pistol grip roller lowers in stock!  If I had known, I would have made this one into a pistol grip...oh well, always the next one!
