	Anyone here shooting a 41 Swiss ? What bullet diameter do you use ? Wiki says .418" Lee precision has a fairly new mold for the 41 Swiss that drops at .418" I had thought the 41 Swiss used a larger diameter bullet at about .429" I have Ideal mold # 427103 that drops at .429" that I thought was for the 41 Swiss but am not sure now. Would appreciate some help getting straightened out on this. I dont have a rifle for the 41 Swiss I am just trying to offer the correct bullets for it.

	My caliper says .428” bore diameter. CHRIS

	I use the Lee mold 430-310-RF and size them to .431 for a Swiss Vetterli. I haven't done any grouping with this bullet only hitting steel. These are loaded in reformed 8 Lebel cases.

	The original .41 Swiss ammo I have is paper patched. I suspect the bullets are in the 0.415-0.418 range with paper to bring them up to groove diameter. I’ve only ever loaded mine with the same grease groove bullets Rafter mentioned, but I ran them as dropped from the mold. So…. Both diameters are right depending….

	Seems to me any bore should be slugged. Then there wouldn't be any question.

	So it would seem then that .430" is about right for the 41 Swiss. I wonder why Wiki is so off on this one. Apparently Lee Precision followed Wiki in offering their new 41 Swiss mold at .418". I had to wonder why the Lee bullets have never sold when advertised for the 41 Swiss at .418" but the old Ideal #427103 at .430" always sells when advertised for the same purpose. So then I wonder what a .418" diameter round nose plain base bullet of about 350 grains would be good for ?

	my 41 Swiss is 1869 IIRC, slug at .440, I use the Lyman 43 Spanish bullet as cast 439186 21 grs of SR4759, will hold min of pig at 300M, with original sights my action originally had the single shot adapter and magazine cover, long since gone rifle has been converted to CF, no sizing insert bullet in fired case, and taper crimp with homemade crimp die 348 win brass did not work in this chamber I used 8x50 Graf/PPU Brass, trimmed and blown out to the chamber

	.440" !!! Wowza !!! You should have a little chat with the folks at Lee Precision. Maybe they can get it right on the second go round. Their current design is a lube groove type but maybe their intent was that it be paper patched. Got to wonder !

	Data that states .418" isn't off as this was originally a paper patched bullet, so it needs to be smaller so two wraps of paper bring it up to groove diameter. So if you're shooting greasers they need to be groove diameter, but that doesn't mean they're all one size as so many old rifles vary in groove diameter.

	pretty wild the slug come out almost square lands and grooves look equal I have put this on paper a couple times, I looked for the targets but......IIRC about 2-3" at100yds, factory sights I was 78 at the time I hit the paper all 10 times, I was happy I have an original paper patched round, someplace, if I can find it I'll post a pic
