	My Pope high wall is enjoying a scenic vacation with some sight seeing and gambling evidently. On Tuesday it left Illinois and instead of going straight to Seattle it detoured and spent a night in Denver. It finally arrived in Seattle on Saturday morning but must have been in need of some additional funds or maybe it just wanted one last wild fling before being confined to a crowded gun safe so it ended up in Reno yesterday. Probably shacking up with some bolt action I suspect.

	My other rifle hasn’t figured out how to get out of Arizona. It has been in two postal facilities there.

	Any packages going USPS through Denver get into some sort of tornado winds and keep returning to Denver after leaving. Seems the West and SW mail systems are stuck in limbo until you file a complaint and somebody kickstarts them to get them heading to the right address. I find it odd that USPS spends millions advertising their great services instead of using those funds to really improve their services. Maybe your Pope is being driven around in the Popemobile so it can wave at all the fans!

	Add Seattle to that list of postal locations that have serious issues. I have often felt like sending them a map of the Puget Sound showing them where the East Olympia post office is since they don't seem to have a clue. Quite a few times packages are sent from Seattle to the Olympia downtown post office which is only 14 min away and they send them back to Seattle.

	It happens on the East coast too.Mail leaving Vermont goes into what I call The New Hampshire Triangle and sometimes it's never seen again.

	When I lived at Rock Island WA, my journal was often late. One time an issue had strawberry jam on it when it finally arrived. So I got hold of the ASSRA and told them about it. I wanted them to send it in a sealed envelope. They didn't believe me, but it was true. I still believe someone, or someones knuckle dragger was taking my journal home and reading it before I got it. Shit happens at the post office just like everywhere else.

	jack, if you like I can fetch that rifle while it's still in Reno- twenty, thirty-minute ride from here. I can't get it to ya right away , but it could still be quicker than the way it seems headed. I won't let anybody disturb it much meanwhile- what caliber is that one again?

	I will call the post office and see if it still there. the caliber is 50 BMG one of Pope's favorite.

	Sometimes I think the sorting machines are infected with a Pong virus! They go back and forth between two locations numerous times until somebody wins the match and the package goes back on it's route.

	Sounds like the Pope just has a wanderlust. I ordered some special material for a job recently, kind of in a hurry... the tracking was probably more than accurate as it had a few extra stampings on it. The packaging looked like something out of the cartoons with labels from several corners of the globe, some I couldn't even identify the language, be glad his wanderings are domestic. GT

	I recently purchased an item from Lewiston Idaho. It left there and went north to Seattle then south to Nashville Tenn. Then Atlanta for a day or two then to my local UPS hub in Unadilla Ga where it sat over the weekend and I got it yesterday Monday. Stuff can literally go anywhere before it reaches you. It took 8 days from the time he mailed it till I got it. When he gave me the package the box was broken on one end I made him wait until I opened the box. It was a barreled action. I just knew the stock was probably broken. Luckily it wasn't. JMH

	I have a flintlock rifle on the way from Kentucky that left the 28th of August. Has gotten stuck for almost a week twice. Supposedly being delivered today

	My local post office said it is in Reno waiting some sort of address verification Possibly due to it being misdirected from Seattle to Reno. She suggested that I file a missing mail claim to get it moving again so it doesn't sit on a shelf for a while. I just filed that claim.

	Maybe see if the current Pope would dispatch a commando team of Swiss Guards to "liberate" the Pope rifle and convey it to you? Sort of a professional courtesy for a predecessor. I wonder if Pope suffered Pope jokes when he was alive?

	I wonder how many Popes have been asked where they get the time to make barrels? Harry 'Pius' Pope the second could show up advertising in the SSJ if a miracle occurs.

	There seems to have been a miracle involved with this package. It arrived in a Seattle at 6:51 am on the 13th and then arrived in Reno at 12:11 pm. Maybe the post office is experimenting with teleportation.

	Well looks like the rifle ran out of gambling funds and had to head back to Seattle. I figure a 50/50 chance it will be sent to the wrong location. If I a lucky it will be here tomorrow.

	Well the DST .22 I bought at the same time was enjoying itself in Phoenix for a few days but when his brother the Pope rifle showed up in Seattle he decided to catch up. Fingers crossed that both will show up at my Post Office tomorrow.

	I mailed a package from central Oklahoma to central Missouri, it went to Denver, left Denver, back to Denver, left Denver, spent 10 days crossing Kansas before finally making the final destination. About 2 weeks total for what would be a 5 hour drive from my house. I think it was trying to stay in the mountains and avoid our hot days.

	Long time ago I ordered a berry juicer from Finland. This was in the early days of tracking number technology. The juicer was going from Portland to Seattle and then to Port Angeles and then to Portland and... I live near Quilcene. So I finally called Fedex and asked them if I needed to stand in my yard and shoot the airplane down to get my juicer. There was sixteen gallons of huckleberries in the fridge trying to ferment. A week after my call the juicer arrived.

	Wild huckleberries. Yum. Our scout troop was camping up in the north cascades in late august. We had picked a bunch of berries one Friday afternoon. We awoke Saturday morning early to the scoutmaster hollering to get up and get packed since it had started snowing that night. He had a large pot of oatmeal with the huckleberries ready to eat as we scrambled to get off the mountain. Long time ago Joe. Long time.

	Jack, when Biggi made her first trip over to see me, on the first evening at my place she challenged me to make a quick desert for her. So I had pancake batter made up, huckleberry syrup made up, and a block of Philadelphia cheese in the fridge. Fried a flapjack, made up a quick sweet cheese filling, rolled it up in the pancake put a toothpick in it and poured H syrup on it. Didn't take fifteen minutes. She just about fell over. That is what the picture is. And it was good.

	Looks very good. Probably not ok for my blood sugar levels. The rifles are in Tacoma. Half the time Seattle sends stuff there they send it right back.

	I had a rifle land at the post office at Mackay. Called the post office and asked them to hold it. I drove up and got it.

	A guy on the muzzleloadingforum.com built it. I have too many projects as it is. He did a great job. I'd post more pictures but they would have to be huge to appreciate the rifle. Thanks.

	I ordered a bullet sizing die from Lee Precision yesterday and they had three options for shipping. One was USPS Ground Advantage (which I never use) and Lee said to allow 30 days for delivery, after they hand it off to USPS. It must go overseas and back. I chose Priority Mail.
