Obviously not a “classic” external adjustment scope, but nevertheless they have a long body in comparison to most modern scopes.

My question is that these were made over a long period of time. Is there a preferable iteration, or certain years to be avoided?

I would assume (uh-oh) that the same information would apply to a K-12?

I have a friend who has a small company building suppressors, and he is making me a scope mount to replace the Lyman sight on my 3rd model Winder musket. It will essentially be a piece of thick flat stock, bent to a L-shape and drilled in the same manner as the Lyman, with a length of rimfire dovetail stock attached to the top, flat surface.

I want to mount a scope that has a long tube, so as to complement the long lines of the Winder. I think a K-10 or K-12 would be a suitable choice given the restraints of the cobbled together mount.

Do you think a Weaver would be suitable?

I have a few K scopes they are very good scopes, if in good condition but, aren't permanently centered.

I always used the Leopold/Redfield mounts with them. You center the X hairs in the scope and then sight the windage with the opposing base screws.

Many don't know how to adjust the parallax. It adjusted much like the Feckers but, on the objective bell.

There are two nuts that hold a center sleeve. You loosen one and tighten the other, to move the sleeve back and forth.
