Many of us older citizens are having problems sizing photos for attachments. Not knowing web programing I am wondering what is limiting  pixel size and would it be possible to increase for us older challenged members?  Sizing programs seem like they want ridiculous funds for service.

I n case it helps, all my pictures are from a Samsung  android phone. I take the picture, then go to my gallery to edit it, and resize it to either 40% or 20% and it usually works

Seems to me something here on the forum has changed. Used to be a 500 pixel limit. Now it seems I have to size files down to 100 or less to fit them in a thread.

I always use my laptop and paint program to size and post pictures.

Don't even want to get into smart phones.  Sad

It looks like on a Motorola you need to use Google Photos to do the resize

My phone needs a third party app to resize pixels. Most seem to run $10.00 to $20.00/ month which is nuts to just size maybe one or two photos. I might have to fire up my old desktop computer and see if that will still work.

Back to original question, is there something that could be done in software so no sizing would be necessary?

I load all my pictures to my free Imgur account and then click on the size choices there to post here. It lets me post whatever size I want since it's just a link and the pictures aren't loaded to this forum.
I'm very low tech, so resizing images is something I've never done or tried to do.

The limit is 500kb in size not pixels.  I typically take the shot on my iPhone and email it large size to myself and open on my Mac in the Preview app.  Crop to the desires subject and resize to 144dpi and 5 to 9 inches wide depending on the subject.

900-1000 pixels wide works great for this forum. There are numerous applications that allow you to resize your jpeg photos. I use Windows Photos and IMO simple to use.
