He will not respond, but his very nice lady Kristen(sp) will answer e-mails sent with needs. She is quite knowledgeable regarding their products. I just received an order sent promptly considering they are located in Maine.

Hopefully someone will educate me.

I recently bought my first long scope.
It's a Lyman Target Spot (?) with a 1 1/2 " objective diameter.
Yet to be mounted .....

Don't laugh but I need to know if there is a standard height for scope blocks on a high Wall and a CPA. Do they even come in different heights?
Is the front block taller to make up for the barrel contour..?

I'd guess that depends on the objective diameter, the height of the comb etc. but in general terms is there a 'normal' spec.

Blocks only need to be tall enough to allow the front bell to clear the barrel so you have enough elevation adjustment. Situating the scope mounts on the barrel will let you see if the objective bell touches, or is close, and how tall a base needs to be. Never use a taller front base as it means the rear adjustment needs to be raised more just to get level. Use the same at both mounts, or if you plan to shoot longer distances a taller rear base. But most bases being equal height will let you shoot at least 300 yds. with external adjust target scopes.
Almost all my bases are around 3/16" tall except for rifles I shoot longer range with and then I go to a taller 1/2" rear base.
