Hello Mr. Turner, 

I was busy having a consultation with the surgeon who will replace my hip in two weeks. Otherwise, I would have been there. Kept me from traveling. I watched the match video and recognized a few people. I put the match on my calendar for next year.

Have my room reserved for Raton next August. They fill up fast.

Brandy, my dizzy blonde had hip surgery earlier this year.  Went to visit her in the hospital the day of her surgery. She was already home walking around. She told me a robot did the surgery.

My room is reserved also.

My wife had a hip replaced last year.
Took to surgery at 7am.
Surgery done by 8 am.
Walking at 10am
Walking up and down steps by 11am.
Went home at 3pm.
Our bedroom is up stairs and see walked up the steps by herself that night and back down in the morning.

I was totally blown away by this!

Last time I went in for a surgery I told them I don't want any details. Told them to just make sure they do the correct side. If they told me the details I wouldn't want the surgery done. Had three hernia ops. They put a screen door in the third time. Been good ever since. 

So, they have me laying naked on my back on the table and it's cold in the operating room. A nurse asks me which side they are doing and I put my finger there. She makes an X with a sharpie. Perfect!

When I had my right knee replaced the surgeon and the anesthesiologist both signed their names just above the correct knee. Afterwards, I started watching a video of how they do it and stopped when they were using a hammer and sharp blade to shave a flat spot on the upper knee. I did get a photo.
  
People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do.

That's really impressive.  A couple of yeas ago my brothers father in law got his hip replaced and they had to lift him onto the porch with a Bobcat with the forklift attachment.  He used a cane for at least a few weeks after too.

Binger banger now has a palm rest. 

And I marked a couple cases so they're easier to find. Chamber is a straight taper version. Breech seating only?
 
Now a match to shoot it in. Or maybe I should practice.

I always liked the Laudensak version over the Helm versions.


I like the looks of the Laudensack over the Helm. The high comb has a tendency to bite your cheek if you are a stock crawler like me. The Laudensack butt plate is much better than the Helm which digs into the back of my arm. The lower Helm prong has a sharp point and it curves up. My highest OH scores are with a Helm.

It's a shooter. 200 yards iron sights, no windflags. Out early setting up in the dark to catch calm winds. 

Using a scope, put three in the 25 ring and two in the 24 ring. Not a speck of lead in the bore.

Was this rifle one of Clark Ehler's Collection that Robb Kauffman brought to the Match to sell? Clark had an awesome single shot rifle collection. I do not imagine he owned a rifle that would not shoot well. I am anxiously awaiting delivery of 3 of his rifles I bought from Rock Island Auction. They are not quite as attractive as your Highwall but I expect them to all shoot top level.

Yes it is. Had a few issues and no sights but it's ready to go now. 

Robb and Angi told me there were 600 rifles in Clarks collection. I got this one and a Ballard #6. Both very nice. Both very accurate.
Looking forward to seeing your rifles should you decide to show them.

The barrel on this rifle is not the barrel R Binger installed on it originally. The forestock does not fit the barrel perfect. Needs wood scraped out to make it fit right.

Bore is .339, 8 grooves. Only mark on the barrel is a # 3 stamped in the usual place for barrel weight.

Dick says he built the rifle in the eighties and that it's an antique like he is at 81.
