Pan luibe question

I made up a batch of lube to try pan lube for the first time. 
The formula was 1 pound of paraffin wax + 1 pound of Vaseline + 2 oz of RCBS case lube + a couple drops of red dye after the lube was liquid. 
I used a double boiler to melt the batch and heated the bullets to 150 degrees, before pouring the lube into the pan. 
After cooling, I pushed bullets out but lube didn’t stick in the grooves 
A friend who had used this formula said that my lube was way too hard. 
We reviewed the formula and procedure but could find no obvious answer to the lack of sticking.
Any idea as to what I did wrong?
Can the lube be saved?

You made vas-par lube.

Many of us used it back in the 70s 80s and 90s. It works okay in cool weather. The old formulas were vaseline, parrafin and a tube of RCBS case lube or STP. I don't remember the ratio of paraffin and vaseline. Add more vaseline to soften it up and add two tablespoons of EV olive oil for a tackifier. Or RCBS case lube or STP. You want the lube to be tacky rather than waxy.

That sounds a whole l0t like Barry Darr's old formula.  I think he called it "Par-Vas" for its two main constituents.  He swore by it.  Charlie Dell hated it.  To each his own, I always say!
