	WTS Ruger #3, "made in the 200th year of American liberty", 30-40 Krag chambering. the blueing is pristine, it is in #1 wood with a black butt pad. The fore end is the Alexander Henry style. has Ruger rings, wood is also pristine. I bought this new and have fired less than 40 rounds through it. photos available upon request to a valid cell number $1800 plus shipping and insurance dave

	No 3 with a Henry forearm? No 1 wood ??? I fiddled a bit swapping parts ... but no idea if they were factory options or specials.

	Yeah, that's my confusion. No 1, pistol grip butt, and a full forearm. No 3, straight grip, and a carbine forearm wirh a barrel band And this is ?????

	I've seen that combo before. Not rare back in the day, but not real common either. Took someone who knew what he was doing. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it a way to create a simpler rifle devoid of the Farquharson lever of the No.1, or perhaps to "improve" the ergonomics of the No.3?

	i wanted a short, handy rifle with good ergonomics. i didnt like the #3 fore end so swapped it out. not much fitting as the barrel channel is the same. i have had two Alexander Henry rifles and fell in love with the design.
