I'd do some additional homework. IIRC, unless your loading subsonic or a greatly reduced load I don't think a 223 completes the powder burn in 14". Might make a good flame thrower. 
Also if I recall correctly the 300 Black Out (same parent case as the 223) will completely burn the powder in 8 inches or so. don't ask me why the difference between the two, it may be the powder type and density
