Lyman tang sight

I have what I believe to be a Lyman #1 combination sight. Base is marked W and staff has Jan 28 '79 and May6 '84 patent dates, so I think it is for a '73 Win. It actually was on an older 1894 rifle.
Problem is that the center spring/ through bolt (or whatever it's called) has the threaded part broken off, as seen in picture.
Is this repairable or replaceable?
Sorry about the oversize pic.

A used one would be best, don’t know if new are made by anyone. There use to be a couple guys that dealt in old sights, one was in Minnesota but I know he has retired.  There was another out west somewhere.  Maybe someone has picked up the inventories and can get you a spring.  I’m sure someone here in this forum will know.

That spring does a couple things.  It give the sight something to rotate on, and the bump or detent sets the up position of the sight for the rifle it is intended for.

Check with Mike Maraccini 906-774-7731.  I know he works on Marbles tang sights but probably Lyman as well.  Nice guy.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I heard Mike has branched out into repairing Lyman sights also. Haven't contacted him to be sure though.
