Very nice looking forward to a range report!

So far looking into Dodge he was a Gunsmith working in  Yreka, California in the 1930's. He was a friend of Elmer Keith. Keith mentions him in a 1935 American Rifleman article about a Winchester 52 and in Big Game Rifles and Cartridges working on his .375 Lancaster double rifle. The local shooting range in Yreka  is named after Mr. Dodge. His 22's were claimed to shoot "lights out" and his Model 52 triggers were like a Swiss watch. Looks like My new Ballard is extra special and a remarkable deal.

I lived in Yreka, for ten years ('76 - '86) and shot at Dodge Range, many times. 

That's where I started shooting muzzle loaders with the Siskiyou Mountain Men.

I have a few of Paul Dodges gunsmithing tools and have seen at least one of his rifles, a 1871 Mauser, rebarreled to 222 Remington. There were other guns on the table but, I don't remember them.

Among the tools are half reamers and a sight adjuster, probably for a 1911. The way I got them, was a guy came to my machine shop and as if I'd be interested in them.

I never new new him or met him. I think he had pass before I moved there.
