	I once had a Krag rifle that was bored to 375 caliber and chambered for the 375 Krag Ackley and it was a very impressive cartridge.

	I may try and work with what I have a bit more. I would still appreciate feedback from people who have gone the rebore route, how it worked out and who they used.

	I haven't had a barrel rebored, but have several friends who have had JES Reboring do their rifles and all were very happy with his work. Great job, quick turn around, and reasonably priced. Cheaper than a reline, or a new barrel. JES is about 100 miles south of my home and well known for his work here.

	JES rebored my 250-3000 RB to a 50-70 and it shoots lights out. They do not work on extractors so I had to have Curt do his magic and at the same time put his extractor limit screw in. I sure miss him. Tom

	If the rifle in 30-40 K does not work out well, I would consider rebore to the 38-50 Rem Hep. in a 12 twist or even a10 twist Very accurate , original Hepburn caliber, and almost "falling off a log" easy to find good loads for particularly BP loads. Brass is easily fire formed from 30-40k brass beltfed/arnie

Brass is easily fire formed from 30-40k brass beltfed/arnie That was a thought, but the chamber is too large for the 38-50 with a .400” neck. The shoulder of the 30-40 is over .420”. If the rebore was perfect, I could breech seat a .405” bullet or turn he necks for a thin wall to shot fixed. I shot it over the weekend, basically half the bullet holes were round, half went through almost sideways at 50 yards. I was able to keep all 6 shots on poster board backer and the round holes made a group about 8”. The sideways holes doubled that. Need to give the crown a hard look. But now I remember why I figured the price was right if bought it and used just the action.
