The shooting equipment has sure changed. Hardly see a Miller or Hoch and the like on the line now. 

It was all a flash in the pan?

I couple of local shooters sold their Millers (32 Miller Short) recently to forum members.  Maybe just not those who shoot matches.  A bunch are gathering dust un Canada I bet.

Gees.  I guess I could drag my 32-40 Ballard out of the safe and shoot it some more.  I just have too much fun shooting high walls.

Amen to that, Brother Jack!  I started with high walls and low walls, and for offhand especially nothing else seems right!  I do still have a couple of Ballards and a Maynard, but they just don’t get the love!

Ballards look and shoot good but they just don’t sound right when opening and closing the action.

Sad but they, hiwalls were not well represented. Where were you Jack? Oh, I'm sure some one used one. I don't recall seeing one though.

Maybe if I didn't have so many others could have brought one.   

I do need to try out my new Ballard seater which uses a Russ Hooks 'Hook" that extends over the top of the reciever.

Blessed are they who shoot Ballards for The Light truly shines upon them!

HW's and 44 1/2's rock and roll, Miller's and Hoch's are the new wave, and Ballards just waltz along like nobody's business. All good.

Checked to see if there were any Ballards for sale in Canada.

Only a Antique Ballard Derringer is available but do not think it would do good in a Schuetzen match.

For some reason Ballards are rare up here.  I've only ever seen a couple of them and one of those was mine.

Have the scores changed without the Hoch and Miller rifles?  In the pictures in the other thread it looks like pretty much all traditional equipment.

I shot a high wall off the bench for a 22, a couple Ballards for my OH matches and a pair of bird guns (Peregrines) for two bench and one OH discipline.  I'm already switching back to a Ballard for one of the bench disciplines this weekend.  GT

My rifles were a Borchardt for ISBR and ASBR. 32-40.
A Hepburn 38-55 MLr for the BPBR match.

A Ballard #6 38-55 for the ISOH match.
A Ron Long Ballard #6 38-55 for the ASOH match.
An Aydt for the German match. Original sights.
A Ballard 25-20SS for the .25 matches. 
A Ballard for the .22 matches.

Only match I used a scope in was the ASBR match. 

Someone asked if the scores are different without the Millers and Hochs and such. The scores are down. The shooters are fewer and older. It's become an old stickers and stayers match with lots of old original traditional rifles.
