A while back, I decided to try a shot or two out back  with my 1885 HW Winchester in 45-60 WCF. It was made in 1886, has a 30 in full octagon barrel with standard rear sporting sight along with factory  mid-range vernier rear tang. Fine bore.

Behind the barn another 75 yards is what we  refer to as the "Deep Creek" with 18 ft high banks. I walked to almost  the bank edge, and about 50 ft down and away was a dog coyote hunting frogs and crayfish.
