40-50 Sharps Bottleneck

Just picked up a new to me #1 sporter rolling block rifle.  I don't know anything about this caliber but want to learn and shoot this rifle.  Got it for a good price at a local gun show this past weekend.  The seller said that his father use to shoot matches with the gun. I guess some people don't want to hang onto family owned guns.  I have 4 of my dads guns that will go to my son when I'm gone with hopes they will stay in the family.  The barrel is an original Remington that was cut back from the breech end leaving it 22" long.  The bore is in really great shape so it has been properly cleaned and cared for in the past.  I really need to find a set of dies so I can shoot this gun.  Any information you may offer (loads, molds or anything else) will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks for looking.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Check Ebay occasionally as I've seen dies for this cartridge a couple times recently. Other source is a new die set from C&H4D. They're always great dies and not crazy expensive.
