Here's an option for mounting a vintage scope on a Miroku Browning or Winchester 1885 without D&T new base holes.  This is assuming the rifle has a dovetail for the rear barrel sight.  It would not work on the BPCR models since there is no rear barrel sight.  It has the correct center-to-center ½” hole spacing & correct pitch screws.

BTW, for the BPCR models, the only non-D&T option I’m aware of is the Steve Earle scope rail
