Not my sale but you too could buy a nice 40-60 #5 weight barrel for a high wall from eBay for only $2300.  I think there is only one so you had best hurry.

Do we really want to take advantage of the seller by not letting him know it's way too cheap?

I can still remember the "Ye Ole Hunter" ads..."a tiny little gnat could fly down the barrel without damaging its delicate wings."

I bought this barrel from this site in February.  It was shipped USPS and the package was broke open, barrel removed and taped back up.  USPS delivered the empty tube.
Local postmaster gave a song and dance and basically said nothing could be done and retained the shipping tube.
Yesterday, the empty tube was delivered to me for the 2nd time.
The photos online match up perfectly with the stamps from the original seller, a few states away.
I'm going to be working diligently with PO and law enforcement to try and recover the barrel.
It has absolutely nothing to do with the seller on the ASSRA site.
I would have never known anything if the information had not been posted here by bpjack.  Thanks guys, regardless of how it works out.
Scott

Well I hope the seller on Ebay can explain how he ended up with this stolen barrel! And hope it turns out to be a USPS worker who gets caught and prosecuted!

I prefer to not wish for bad outcomes, and for people to be dishonest.

I hope the seller purchased this at a lost postal auction, and if the original buyer wants it, he's able to get it.

I think that's a lot more plausible than some random postal employee opening a barrel tube and stealing a barrel to sell on ebay.

Shipping barrels in a tube is a recipe to get it lost.  When I was in the business of selling barrels, I learned very quickly that they need shipped in square or triangular boxes, not tubes.  Loss rate in tubes was easily 20 times that in other packaging.
