The seller didn't say PM FIRST. Didn't say, FIRST to PM, didn't say or direct anything outside the conventional "I'll Take it" applies.

If nothing else comes from this exchange is that we should be specific in posting 'For Sale' Items and the criteria to establish a commitment to purchase.

I didn't start this thread until I was informed the same seller had advertised two items (CPA Actions) For Sale. A buyer posted, I'll take them BOTH.

Wherein the committed buyer of the actions later discovered and was told by the seller that he could only buy one of the items. Apparently the seller sold one of the items from under the guy who posted a commitment to buy Both.

The first response I received from the seller to my inquiry can be generously characterized as a excuse laden sophomoric reply.

After I learned of the same sellers apparent subterfuge involving the two actions I thought it appropriate to shine a light on the need to be specific on how to commit to buy.

That’s simply not true

The moment I saw the two replies posted just seconds apart, I felt that this sale would become problematic, and so it has.

However, the latest revelations have exceeded more than just a misunderstanding.

I can not believe that this foolishness has gone on for three pages. You really need to get over this.

I'm not a complete idiot, some of my parts are missing.

They certainly have, but you may have it backwards.

The first CPA action was spoken for 30 minutes before the “I’ll take it” posted.

Probably time to either close this thread, or delete it. It's not doing anyone any service.

Val,

You are right, I think this thread has run it's course.

While 99% believe the "First to make a public commitment" on an item, should prevail, at least two others believe that private side Deals in the Dark take precedent.

I'll close out this thread with the following;

The For Sale / Buy/ Trade  Ad Requirements Should include as part of the listing, a way for the seller to specify that the item has been spoken for.

Any seller with Integrity would do this so as to keep other interested parties informed as to the status.

Moderator MI-Shooter even specifies:

Don't forget that when your item sells to edit the post title to add something like "sold", "delete" etc so us moderators know when to remove old for sale items

The general membership has no way to know if some Back-Room PM deal has been struck.

If you have successfully done a Secretive, Less-than-Transparent PM Deal "30 minutes prior", At least have the Stones and the courtesy to make a post on the add that you have just made a (backdoor) "Deal" with the seller.

In the case of SSDave. posting
"He and I posted simultaneously in the thread that we would take it."

Dave displayed True Grit and Integrity by describing that we both had made transparent POSTED moves at virtually the same time on the same item.

Nothing secretive in the deal done between myself and the seller.
Nothing in the for sale rules that I can find were violated. Slow to post SPF is not a violation.

On the other side you have lowered yourself to unfounded, personal attacks. As well as using the forum to try and settle personal grievance.  Frankly concerning one matter that is none of your business.

Both of those are against the forum rules. You should apologize publicly.

are you certain that you can speak for 99% of the membership to this forum and say they all believe that no one should be allowed to remain anonymous for any purchase?

help me to understand. Wouldn’t posting the fact that I made a secretive less than transparent deal, negate the effort required to make that secret deal? Or should I have just announced it faster than 30 min?

Don't forget that when your item sells to edit the post title to add something like "sold", "delete" etc so us moderators know when to remove old for sale items.

If you can’t work out that “please pm” in bold font ten times the size of everything else in the add is the preferred method of business, you can’t be helped.

Whether you realize it or not, you’ve painted many, if not the majority of sellers here as lacking integrity.
