anyoe used 14:1 alloy?

I mixed up a big pot of 14:1 alloy to test with one of the black powder rifles that really likes 16:1 alloy.

Has anyone had success in a 32-40 or 38-55 with breech seated bullets and hard alloy like this?

thanks,

Chris

Chris,
Bet it will work fine. Give t a try. You can always add a little lead if it doesn’t.

Seems like a waste of tin, though. All mine are 20 to 1 for convenience except a Paul Jones for my 38-50 which has a long nose and required 16 to 1 to prevent slumping. If you are breech seating and depending on your bullet's taper and your breech seating equipment you might want to soften it even a little more.
