Pan Lubing Bullets
Print Post
For years now I have been pan lubing bullets for Schuetzen. As I'm sure most are aware, ensuring there is no residual lube on the bullet bases is necessary for precision accuracy. The method I use is effecive but slow.
Does anyone have a particularly efficient method for removing that thin coat of lube from bullet bases that they are willing to share?
Thanks to anyone who jumps in on this.

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.

I don't pan lube. Though if you have a tapered bullet pan lubing is necessary. Unless you have a Pope style pump with a tapered die. I'll use a slightly oversized sizer die and wipe the base on a rag. A sizer die the same diameter as dropped or .001 bigger works great. I know it's not what you asked except for wiping on a rag. A little rubbing alcohol on a shop rag leaves the base clean.

I use a shop rag with a little bit of brake cleaner on the cloth.  One quick pass and it’s done
