Brooks molds

Just received my new Brooks bullet mold and am very pleased. It came with full instructions on alloy to use and a couple cast bullets that I must say look very good. Ample lube grooves and a good weight to it. Got to get some 30 to 1 mixed up so I can try it out. It is a 40 cal. "improved" Postell of 400 grains. While a bit pricey I think worth every penny.

I picked up the same bullet style but in .45 cal at the Quigley Shoot. He had a large offering of molds and it was nice to have bullets included so you could see what the actual product was.  Just been too hot to cast.

Jhm or Jmh?, when faced with the alloy situation for my 400 grain 40 Jones in my 40-65 Browning I decided to run a test. I cast some 30 to 1, some 25 to 1 and some 20 to 1 and shot 10 of each at 200 meters alternating the alloys in a random manner. The results were that 25 to 1 shot much better than the 30 to 1 and the 20 to 1 shot a little better than the 25 to 1. Your mileage may vary, of course.
