Whitney Phoenix Survey

Hello all, long time lurker and new forum member. I am conducting a survey on Whitney Phoenix rifles and shotguns trying to find out exactly how many were manufactured. I have found differing accounts on the number made. Currently I have 62 firearms recorded with the highest serial being 6692. 

If any members here have a Phoenix I would like to add then to the survey. The information I am looking for is as follows:

-Serial number (If you do not feel comfortable listing this in the thread please PM me)
-Caliber
-Barrel Length
-Extractor Style (There are two styles, an extractor on the left of the barrel shank and one on the bottom)
-Stock style
-Barrel Shape
-Sight Configuration
-Other Interesting Information

I currently have two Phoenixes in my collection, one I picked up as just an action that I am slowly building into a 44-77 and the other in 38 RF.

Back to my Whitney.
28” barrel  gain twist, 28 to 19
38/50 Ballard everlasting
Extractor, pivot mounted on the right side of barrel. Block opens to the right then actuates the extractor which is on the left.
Schutzen style stock, cheek wrest hooked butt plate.
Extra fancy wood. Forearm and stock checkered.
Half round half octagon.
5” staff Whitney non soul tang sight.
Spirit level wind gauge front sight

A couple months ago there was a thread on Whitney rifles. People posted some pictures of their rifles. I was one of them

Mine is #1499 with the extractor on the bottom. It has been rebarreled to 40-60 Maynard (Krag) and restocked.

I have at least one in the works.  Serial #6244.  It was originally a 12ga and the muzzle when I got it resembled a blunderbus, the fella I got it from said that it was used for shooting fish, don't know any of the rest of the story.  I removed the barrel and right now it sports a Badger in 40 cal, chambered in 40-60 Win.  I made a new bottom extractor and that still needs a couple of finish cuts.

I have a Phoenix Schuetzen s/n 4965 in some .44 caliber. I also have a Creedmoor S/n 3191. I have seen a few others over the years, but no many

Thank you all for your information, I have added it to the list. TRowe do you happen to remember what caliber your Creedmoor is in? Also your Schuetzen is the first I have recorded in the 4000-5000 serial range. I also found the thread with the pictures and there are some very beautiful rifles on display there. I will attempt to take some photos of mine today and share with you all.
